about us

Eagle Point Oyster Company is rooted in the rich maritime heritage of Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, where generations have relied on the sea for both livelihood and identity. More than a century ago, the waters near Ocean Springs and Deer Island were home to a thriving oyster industry, one that helped establish the region as a seafood capital. Today, we’re proud to carry that legacy forward.

Founded in 2021 by a group of passionate friends, Eagle Point Oyster Company was born from a shared commitment to revitalizing Mississippi’s oyster culture. What began as a small, hands-on operation has grown into a mission-driven farm dedicated to producing premium oysters while restoring the health and sustainability of our coastal waters.

about our oysters

Our oysters are cultivated in the nutrient-rich Mississippi Sound using innovative, off-bottom aquaculture methods. Suspended in floating reefs just below the surface, they benefit from optimal water flow, sunlight, and care. Every oyster is tended daily, from growth monitoring to a meticulous tumbling process that creates our signature deep-cupped shells and consistently exceptional quality.

The result is a distinctly Gulf Coast oyster: clean, balanced, and unforgettable. With a flavor profile that blends sweetness, brininess, and subtle floral notes, Eagle Point Oysters reflect the unique environment in which they’re grown.

the history of eagle point oysters

Eagle Point Oysters are rooted in the long-standing maritime traditions of Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. In the early 1900s, the original Eagle Point Oyster Company operated near Marsh Point by Davis Bayou, helping establish Ocean Springs and Biloxi as thriving centers of oyster harvesting during the region’s seafood boom.

Over time, hurricanes, oil spills, and environmental changes severely impacted local oyster reefs, leading to a major decline in production. In November 2021, a new Eagle Point Oyster Company was founded near Deer Island, unaware at first of its historical namesake, but ultimately continuing the same legacy.

Today, Eagle Point Oyster Company is part of the Gulf Coast’s revival, using sustainable aquaculture methods to cultivate high-quality oysters while helping restore the region’s historic fishery. Blending tradition with innovation, they carry forward a legacy that has defined these waters for generations.
